Comments: My "BOO" Hound, Prints-Lestrade and I enjoy reading your Daily Drool tips and articles. Prints is my third Basset in the family and I've loved them all. It is amazing to see, when I walk him in Marine Park-Brooklyn, how many nice comments I get from the other dog owners. It seems, no matter what breed they own, to the last one, each loves the Basset! Comments: I recently just bought a bassett hound he is a year old. we named him hank he only likes to have me and my husband. he seems to be closed to people being around, of course it may be because it is just mainly me and my husband at the house. is there a way to make him not be so anxious around other people?

Comments: I recently lost my last Basset, Jethro. He almost made it to 16. I also had his father, Homer, who made it just passed his 16th birthday. After the passing of my wife and Homer in 2005, Jethro was my constant companion for 5+ years. He is missed. I've decided another Basset or two is what my new house a mountain side needs. I'm thinking of a couple of girls this time. Any breeders in northern California whelping soon?

Comments: I would like to thank all the members of the Daily Drool. Last year many of you were so kind to me and sent me Christmas cards because it was the first Christmas I was spending without my husband Steve. I want you to know that I kept all those cards and I pulled them out and added each an everyone to my card list this year. So when you receive a card from Salem, Iowa it is me saying thank you again. Buttons(Jack Russell), Molly Anne(basset hound), and Xena(cat) and myself all wish each and everyone of you Happy Holidays.

Comments: Oh how we love our Basset Buddy Ray! He is almost 9 years old now and such an integral part of our family! My youngest daughter has grown up with him and he is all she knows, and vice versa. He is so good with our 3 cats and our other dog Dixie. Buddy has quite the personality too, and he knows just how adorable he is, and he works it! Thank you for this informative site and for the chance to let the world know how much we LOVE our Buddy Ray!

Comments: I just recently became the proud new mom of a two year old bassett named Soup. She is so dear to our family! It seems as though she was made just for my family. My two children and my husband and I just love her so much. Just want to know if I have to Vacuum all the time now!

Comments: We have had 9 bassets over the yrs.and currently have 4. Hot Rod is the oldest at 15. He was a rescue at 7 months. We have litter mates California and Lovie who are 4 and our most current rescue is Waldo who is also 4. Their personalities are all so different and that is what makes them so special. When asked to describe a basset hound I just say..." A basset is a Gentleman"...Anyone on the west coast looking for a basset we encourage you to contact GGbassetrescue.com.

Comments: Hi, my name is Nutmeg and my person is Carol. I love long walks, especially on the colder days. I have many many 4 and 2 legged friends. I am 4 years old. I really really hate to be left alone. My persons don't leave me alone too often. Things I love to do.... bury my bones then dig them up and bring all the great flavouring into the house and give it to my person (in her bed) If she didn't want me to put it there, they should never have built the princess staircase to help my climb up to the bed. I can be found at ladybugdiscovery. Nutmeg

Comments: I am a devoted Bassett Hound lover....I have owned 2 previous Bassetts, plus the 2 I currently own. The male's name is barney 3(third Barney in a series! LOL!!) who is 8 years old, and my female Bassett's name is Lydia who is 4 years old. Both are very loving dogs,as Bassetts are, but these 2 are even more so. Lydia loves to climb up my chest, put her paws on each side of my neck and gives me hugs. Barney licks my face, arms, and neck like he hasn't seen me in days!

Comments: I understand you met my daughter Lauren in Kona this morning. She said after meeting Bo and Holly, she showed you a pic of our bassets, Marble, Cricket and Bailey. Lauren grew up with bassets that we have rescued over the years. I love your website! Thanks for sharing your website info with Lauren!
