comments: Dr. B. is a wonderful and compassionate vet who loved Caruso (and now Scooter-Pie!) and vice versa. He specializes in acupuncture as well as traditional medicine and is a wonderful source for dealing with arthritis, back problems, allergies and all sorts of ailments that can't be 'cured' with traditional drugs! Always knowledgable, extra caring and up to date with new treatments, Dr. B will go out of his way to find out how your basset is doing and make sure he's ok!

Comments: Great Vet, had Basset's as a child and adores them. Always tells me that Pumpkin is "The best Basset Hound in Catonsville" so she must be intelligent and a good judge of character. Also gives me a nice discount on my BROOD foster dogs. I also live down the street so if a traveling Drooler needed an emergency rest stop please don't hesitate to call me.

Nominated also by Sherrilyn Wilson

Comments: This vet has already been recommended, and I also thought she was wonderful. Please note that the clinic has moved (I was trudging all around Catonsville in the rain trying to find it the first time I went!). It's now located in a very modern facility behind the 7-11.

Comments: Dr. Ostroff took care of Meagan and Scarlett for there entire lives (12 yrs, 3 mos. for Meagan and 15 yrs, 3 1/2 mos. for Scarlett). He is kind and gentle and loving. He really understands hounds and their special needs. He helped us keep them very energetic and frisky until the last week of theis lives when they just couldn't go any longer. He was so kind and understanding at the end too.
Now we have 8 month old Delilah who he is taking care of. We wouldn't let anyone else take care of our baby.

Dr. Sweeney, VMD, PA
1900 Powder Mill Rd
Silver Spring, MD 20903

Comments: Dr. Sweeney has been a wonderful doctor for our baby girl. He is always available for appointments (even gives out his home number frequently), and is always concerned about our babies. He has called the house times (after visits) to check up on Shelbi's progress. It is a very home-like atmosphere (the office is in his home) and very caring! Great place for bassets if you can lift them on the table!!!

comments: Smurf had gone to Dr. Brooks before he became associated with Dr. Mangini. Dr. Brooks had always been great with Smurf and would explain the what, when and why...until I understood. I took both Lace and Jasper to him and continued when he associated with 'Parkville'. I know Dr. Brooks would only be associated with someone of similar mind. Dr. Mangini has been great and I have no qualms about taking the 'kids' to either doctor. (Note: Dr. Brooks has moved)
