Glen Moore Vet Hospital
Route 322
Guthriesville, Pa
610-942-4404Comments: Our vet has learned that stitches (even in eye lids) can be removed with no reaction from the dog. A slight quivering can mean that he has found the sore muscle causing the limp. Mainly he can do almost anything without fear of reaction. Actually there are two vets at the Glen Moore Vet. Hospital. Doctors Tremoglie and Lindquist are very good and do not waste money on lots of tests. We tested Elmer for Lyme by putting him on Amoxycillin to watch for improvement ( ~$10 ) instead of a blood test ( ~$30 )

Monroeville Veterinary Hospital, Inc.

(412) 372-1100Comments: My vet is wonderful...he's a nationally renown eye surgeon. People send him dogs from all over the country for eye surgery. He's super with Homer..seems to know enough about them. I highly recommend him: Dr. Lynch has a female vet with him...I can't stand her...name is Dr. Oster..she's from Czechovokia...very cold and abrupt...most people, me included, can't understand a word she says, because she babbles on a mile a minute...never smiles, never reassures...Make sure any new people use Dr. Lynch ONLY...and they can use my name.

I was very surprised when I saw the negative comments about Dr. Oster of the Monroeville, PA Vet Hospital. My Basset, Henry, and I have been seeing Dr. Oster for several years. She is extremely knowledgable about Bassets, offers a wealth of information at each visit, and always has time for questions. I would recommend her to anyone, she is fantastic. Tammy Fridley.

Comments: Dr. Smolen and his associates run a very nice facility, with a friendly, caring staff. They always go the extra mile to make sure the animal is
comfortable, and when our dogs have had problems, Dr. Smolen has called to
check on their progress. He takes a personal interest, and is both experienced and up with the latest in veterinary science.

Comments: This woman is a great vet and seems to understand Basset hounds and their conditions. She just recently spayed ours. Also diagnosed pannos when our other vet said she ahd a bad knee and needed expensive surgery. I like her a lot. I am sure anyone else in our area would say the same thing. When a dog is neutered or spayed, her assistant picks them up in the morning and brings them back home at night. I love it. Anyway here is her credientials.

I credit Dr. LaPierre with giving Molly an extra year feeling good even through chronic kidney failure. The office staff is also very good. Dr.Robert Bishop and his staff do an excellent job with basset hounds.
They are very sensitive to the needs of this breed and handle any
problems with professionalism and common sense, He was wonderful in
treating my old basset Duchess's glaucoma , better than some veterinary
schools I've visited. His surgery on my dog's skin tumors left no scars.
He can be reached at the Shoemaker Avenue Animal Hospital , West Wyoming

Phone: (717)243-8706Dr. Brough is awesome with our basset. To my knowledge, they only have a few bassets in their practice , but she knows a great deal about them. Her and her staff are so kind, and make over the dogs so much, that our pup has no fears about going in. They are very gentle with the dogs, and have lots of time to answer questions, give demonstrations on how to do things, and just love what they do in general. Their prices are very reasonable too, they do it for the animals, not for the money. I would recommend them to
anyone. We just moved almost 30 minutes from Dr. Brough, (we used to live 5 minutes from her office) but we continue to take Daisy there, because we just can't bring ourselves to trust anyone else.
