I wanted to add a note to Dr. Yurko's nomination in West Virginia. 
I'm not sure who nominated him, but being from WV, I happened to look at the WV basset-nominated vets one day & saw his name. My father lives in WV and ironically enough takes his Pointer to Dr. Yurko. I live in MD, but when my basset had problems with his back legs & my vet here kept dismissing it as nothing, I called Dr. Yurko since he knows my father. And he was nice enough to go out of his way & give a possible diagnosis and remedy for Tex. Sure enough within a week, Tex was cured of his lameness, all because a man I'd never 400 miles away cares enough about bassets to help out!
